Trump published in Truth Social that the senior officials of the United States, including Treasury Secretary, Scott Besent, will make the trip. Trump’s announcement came the day after Trump and Chinese leader Xi Jinping spoke on the phone to discuss a possible commercial agreement.
At the beginning of the year, the two countries raised tariffs on imports of others, with the US tax reaching 145% in April, practically an embargo. Since then, the United States and China have stopped some of the rates and have tried to negotiate lower commercial barriers.
The result of negotiations has significant implications for the economy and for US consumers because many products on the shelves of American stores are carried out in China.
