Asia-Pacific markets fall mainly as investors evaluate Trump’s tariff threats

The Asia-Pacific markets fell mainly on Tuesday, since investors weighed the rhetoric staircase of the president of the United States, Donald Trump, on the rates and evaluated their move to fire the governor of the Federal Reserve, Lisa Cook.

According to the reports, Trump warned about “200% of tariffs or something” in China if it does not export rare land magnets to the United States, while threatening taxes in countries that do not eliminate digital taxes and related regulations.

Hong Kong Hang Seng index led losses in the region. The reference point fell 1.18% to finish the day at 25,524.92, while CSI 300 of Continental China dropped 0.37% to 4,452.59, clicking its four -day winning streak.

Investors also evaluated the meeting between the presidents of South Korea and the USA.

The Kospi index closed 0.95% lower than 3,179.36, while the small capitalization kosdaq rose 0.46% to 801.66.

In Japan, Nikkei 225 decreased 0.97% to 42,394.40, while the broader topix index fell 1.08% to 3.071.99.

Australia S&P/ASX 200 reference point fell 0.41% to 8,935.60.

In India, the NIFTY 50 reference point decreased by 0.66%, while the BSE Sensex index lost 0.65% from 2 pm Indian standard time (4:30 am et).
