A state visit always sends a buzzing through the writing room, and the trip of the president of the United States, Donald Trump, to the United Kingdom, next week seems to offer real, political and commercial holders, despite being his second visit of this type.

Wednesday will bring the Royal Pomp and the ceremony.
Trump and the first lady Melania will be received at Windsor Castle by King Charles and Queen Camilla with real greeting, followed by a carriage procession.
Later, the president will place a crown of flowers in the tomb of Queen Elizabeth II, which will be followed by a flow of American F-35 military planes along with the British red arrows. The day will end with a state banquet, during which both the king and the president will pronounce speeches.
On Thursday, it is due to business.
Trump will go to the Ladies, the country house of the prime ministers of the United Kingdom, where he will meet with Keir Starmer for a series of bilateral meetings, followed by a joint press conference later that day.
From a foreign policy perspective, the moment is uncomfortable.
Starmer has just fired the American ambassador to the United Kingdom, Peter Mandelson, citing new details about his connections with the dishonor Jeffrey Epstein. Downing Street had set a lot of hope in Mandelson to revitalize the “special relationship” between the two nations.
Interestingly, only two weeks ago, Telegraph reported that Trump had invited the predecessor of Mandelson, Karen Pierce, to the state banquet this week, in a sign that the problems could already have been the management.

But let’s go back to business. Both Trump and Starmer can depend on Tech Bros to bring some positive headlines.
Ryan Browne of CNBC reported Friday that Nvidia and OpenAi, which are part of the United States commercial delegation that travel with Trump, are ready to make the main investment commitments in the United Kingdom. The two technology companies are discussing a considerable agreement to support the development of data centers in the country, which could ultimately assert billions of dollars, said a person familiar with the matter to CNBC.
The United States Treasury Secretary Scott Besent, will also attend the state banquet at Windsor Castle, as well as meetings with Starmer.
Besent will be just out of the plane from Madrid, Spain, where it meets with the vice -first Chinese minister that Lifeng for the fourth round of commercial conversations between the United States and China. It is also expected that they address the future of Tiktok, which faces another deadline on September 17, to decide on an American prohibition in the application of social networks or a partial sale by their bya of the Chinese parents.
It is a lot for a week. And although state visits are known for their meticulous planning, the writing room will keep your eyes and ears open for any unexpected time, be it a slip of the hot microphone, the controversial choice of the attire, the exotic banquet menu selection or any other surprise that can reach our path.
