Palantir Technologies Inc., headquartered in Denver, Colorado (PLT) builds and deploys software platforms for the intelligence community to assist in counterterrorism investigations and operations. It also provides software platforms that offer hidden pattern identification and software deployment in different environments for commercial purposes. With a market capitalization of $449.8 billionPalantir’s operations span North America, the United Kingdom and internationally.

The tech giant has significantly outperformed the broader market over the past year. PLTR Stock Has shot up 162.9% in annual terms and soared 342.5% in the last 52 weeks, notably surpassing the S&P 500 index ($SPX) 17.2% profit in annual terms and an increase of 18.1% over the past year.

To narrow the focus, Palantir has also outperformed the SPDR S&P Software & Services ETF (XSW) 4.7% profit to date and a return of 16.2% over the past year.

Palantir Technologies stock quotes gained 7.9% in the negotiation session after the publication of his Second quarter results that crush expectations on August 4. The company has continued to see strong momentum and solid growth in demand for its AI products and platforms. During the quarter, its U.S. commercial revenue grew 93% year over year to $306 million, while U.S. government revenue rose 53% to $426 million. Overall, its revenue grew 48% year over year, reaching $1 billion, 7% above Street expectations. Meanwhile, its adjusted EPS soared 77.8% year over year to $0.16, surpassing the consensus estimates by a wide margin.

For full fiscal 2025, which ends in December, analysts expect PLTR to deliver 462.5% year-over-year growth in adjusted earnings to $0.45 per share. The company has a history of mixed earnings surprises. While it has missed final Street estimates twice in the past four quarters, it has met or surpassed projections on two other occasions.

However, analysts remain cautious about the stock’s prospects. PLTR has a consensus”Hold” overall rating. Of the 21 analysts covering the stock, opinions include four “Strong Buys”, 14 “Holds”, one “Moderate Sell” and two “Strong Sells”.

This setup is slightly more optimistic than three months ago, when three analysts gave “Strong Sell” ratings.

On October 28, Citigroup (do) analyst Tyler Radke maintained a “Neutral” rating on PLTR and raised the price target from $177 to $190.

At the time of writing, PLTR is trading above its average price target of $158.78. While its $215 high target suggests an 8.1% upside potential.
