The Italian municipality of Fornelli in the Molise region of Italy will dedicate a monument to the Pseudonym creator of Bitcoin (BTC) Satoshi Nakamoto.
In a Facebook publication of April 23 of the municipality, Fornelli said he plans to present the work of art Satoshi on May 1. The details surrounding the monument were not clear in the announcement, but the municipality said it had been designed by the artist Mattia Pannoni and financed by the local government.
“It is important, in a fundamental fact, as administration, take into account all the new ideas that come from our young people,” said Fornelli Mayor Giovanni Tedeschi.
According to the local government, Fornelli has the “greatest adoption density of Bitcoin in the world” among its approximately 1,800 residents. Many artists, both cryptographic and other investors, have published works of art that try to represent the pseudonym creator through statues and digital images. A common theme in these pieces is to show Satoshi without clearly defined facial characteristics, sometimes with a hoodie or working on a computer.
