If Microsoft can pull all this off, especially this new Hologram technology, it'll certainly be cutting edge! Very impressive.

Didn't Microsoft make a claim this sort of technology was coming out for the X-Box one, and a year and 2 months later and Microsoft has gone all hush hush about it. Obviously, the gear will be so prohibitively expensive, users would have jumped over to the PS4 more than they already have. At least Nintendo fulfilled its promises and actually includes some interactivity with its game pad, upon the date of release, not some date who knows how long into the future. I'm not going to hold my breath.

Where MS ruined windows with windows 8 is, they moved how you access settings, certain other features, and some disappeared all together. What Apple got right and MS got wrong, when Apple switched from an OS designed for the Power PC processors, to an OS built upon the BSD Linux core is, they didn't really change the interface. With OSX, you still have the finder, which operates as it always did, and just like the Classic OS, it allows you to use their computers as an appliance, which is what most people want.

Apple also, unlike MS, added tools like, the terminal app, which lets power users go into command line access of the OS, so they can really get at the guts of the OS. All MS did was make their new OS all bright and flashy, and they didn't add any real usefulness to the OS.

Apple on the other hand has iOS for portable devices, and it's interface is close enough to OSX that, there is no learnings curve. This is what MS doesn't get, what Apple has goes beyond creating an ecosystem, where all your devices share a common environment, making sharing data between your devices easier, even more so now that, you can be working on a document on a desk top, turn off your desk top and switch over to your tablet at a cafe, and double check it just before the presentation on your phone, starting and stoping the work on the document, right where you left off on each device, by simply logging into your account.

Beyond this smooth interaction with data regardless of your Apple device, Apple has designed operating systems so simple and strait forward, vary young children can easily learn to operate an Apple device. Android is a bit more challenging, but a far cry above windows 8x and Windows mobile.

Linux is where you should be if your a power user on the PC side, it's like Apple OS in reverse, your going from a strong command line OS and adding whatever customized GUI you want. Apple simple starts with a standard GUI, which there are apps to change the look and feel of. Microsoft simply wants you to become a computer tech, just to use your device, that's like having to bean auto engineer to drive to the grocery store. The Red Ring of death on 3 Xbox 360s, is what made me loose faith, and their promise when the slate was first being released that, you could use your apps on your windows phone, tablet, and desk top. Even if MS had achieved the ability to do what Apple has achieved with document sharing, they would have been ahead of the game, but Apple didn't even make any promises, just to sell product, they simply added it to their OS.

Windows 8 was the legit reason I converted over to OS X Yosemite. But this looks pretty cool, it might even convince me to switch back in the future if they get it right…
