New Dimensions in Testimony preserves Holocaust survivors stories as holograms

USC’s Shoah Foundation, an institute founded by Steven Spielberg, created a new technology that brings inter-generational storytelling and the oral tradition into the 21st century. It’s called New Dimensions in Testimony and it’s first use is to capture the experience of Holocaust survivors so future generations can interact with them.

New Dimensions in Testimony lets anyone sit down and ask questions to a hologram of a Holocaust survivor, and it has the feel of a normal conversation. Each subject was interviewed for a week and asked over 5000 questions. Voice recognition software breaks down the questions and offers up an answer.
