The process involved using the local registration number of offenders or criminals, as they are known in South Korea, held by local governments. This revealed the offenders' mobile numbers, which were then used to track linked accounts on crypto exchanges. The system reduced the previous six-month process of requesting information on a case-by-case basis from crypto exchanges to just 15 days.
