Top 10 American cities with the largest houses

by SuperiorInvest

During the COVID-19 pandemic, the housing market has shifted toward people wanting to live in larger homes and moving from urban areas to suburban and rural neighborhoods.

American home shield reviewed 506,374 listings of homes and condos for sale from Zillow to determine the results of its 2022 US Home Size Index, which showed the cities in the United States with the largest homes.

Some key findings from the index showed that the average new home in the U.S. is now more than 1,000 square feet larger than it was in 1973, according to Census Bureau data.

The index also said fast-growing tech hubs in the Rockies have the largest homes and densely populated coastal cities have the most expensive real estate, which is what’s pushing people to look elsewhere for cheaper homes.
